ASSESSMENT: Speaking&listening

Students need to be involved in meaningful, personally relevant experiential tasks in order to internalize the language learned. This kind of games are the key to the development of a primary way of communication.
With this type of crafts like "The Cheshire Cat", we are trying to create a positive and motivational feedback which should be used to develop a community of self-confident, risk-taking language users and learners.

@s alumn@s teñen que estar implicados en tarefas experimentais e de relevancia persoalmente significativa para cada un de eles, a fin de internalizar a linguaxe aprendida. Este tipo de xogos son a clave para o desenvolvemento dunha forma de comunicación primaria.
Con este tipo de manualidades como "O Gato de Cheshire", estamos intentando crear unha retroalimentación positiva e motivadora que debe ser usada para desenvolver unha comunidade de usuari@s da lingua con suficiente confianza en eles mesmos, que non teñan medo a asumir riscos na linguaxe oral tanto como usuarios do idioma e tamén como alumn@s da mesma.

PURPOSEFUL AND MEANINGFUL LANGUAJE

The daily routines of a ESL Kindergarten classroom are ideal to building the language foundation in our class. Through calendar routines and interactions, the "The word of the day"", rhymes, chants and songs, ESL pupils will develop a common vocabulary and set of structures useful in this setting. Nevertheless, these kids need more than patterned language and routines. They need to experience situations where they will take risks with language and interact with others to collaborate on meaningful and purposeful tasks. With support, they will learn the language as they play, talk, and think together. Such a rich, play-based kindergarten environment supports oral language and a primary communicative development as well as the growth of creativity, problem-solving, and social interaction.

FINALIDADE E SIGNIFICADO DA LINGUA

As rutinas diarias dunha clase de inglés en infantil son ideais para a construción dos fundamentos da lingua. A través de rutinas de calendario e interaccións, a "palabra do día", rimas, cancións e música, @s alumno@s de "ESL" desenvolverán un vocabulario común e un conxunto de estruturas útiles neste escenario. Con todo, est@s nen@s necesitan máis que a linguaxe estandarizada e rutinas. Precisan probar situacións en que eles van asumir riscos coa linguaxe e interactuar con outr@s compañeir@s para colaborar en tarefas significativas e con un claro propósito. Con apoio, van aprender a lingua como un xogo, falando e pensando xunt@s. Este ambiente de infantil baseado no xogo apoia a linguaxe oral para o desenvolvemento dunha comunicación primaria, así como o crecemento da creatividade, resolución de problemas, e interacción social.
